TITLE: Home and Hospital Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science Degree, preferable in Teachers Education.
- Two to five years experience as a classroom teacher preferred.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Services
JOB GOAL: To insure that every qualified homebond child in the school system capable of benefiting from instruction be provided with required educational program.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Home/Hospital teacher shall be responsible for:
- Contacting the student’s parent/guardian to notify them at his/her identity, purpose, and to schedule teaching sessions.
- Contacting the counselor or principal to make an appointment to meet with the regular teacher(s).
- Conferring with the regular teacher (s) to receive assignments materials, and decide who will be responsible for determining grades.
- Completing all required reports and submitting them to the Student Services Worker.
- Maintaining contact with regular classroom teacher (s) at least once every two weeks.
- Completing the Student Bi-Weekly Progress Reports and submitting them to the classroom teacher(s).
- Ensuring that all payroll reports are completed, signed, and submitted to the Pupil
- Personnel Coordinator according to the pay schedule provided.
- Returning all books, materials, forms, etc., to the proper personnel at the conclusion of

- Contacting the Student Services Worker upon completion to the teaching assignment.
- Completing the student readmittance forms, sending one copy to the Pupil Personnel
- Specialist, and handig one to the student or parent/guardian to return to the attendance
- office at school.
- Contacting Student Services staff if there are any questions or difficulties concerning the
- Home/Hospital assignment.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Non-exempt. Part time, on call employee
